Miami is a unique location for Anglers to visit and enjoy a variety of different species to catch! There aren't many places you can target inshore flats species and off shore species within sight of their specific habitats. Last week I enjoyed some time off with my Dad and we went looking for Bonefish and Permit but on the way to the first spot we stopped to look at something on the boat and when we looked out we came across a giant school of Pilchards (Baitfish). Naturally we decided that we capitalize on this opportunity that thrown into our laps (lots of bait and easy to catch). One throw of my Cast net and we had more bait than we could handle so refilled up and let the rest go! I had been catching Mutton snapper earlier that week on artificial in a new area I was learning to find its potential so I ran straight there to fish. We had an incredible day of catching Muttons, Yellow Jacks, Mangrove Snapper and even some Yellowtail Snapper! Not the game plan we were after but the one we adapted to and it paid off with some fresh catch Dinner for us!
